| What is Mentoring? | Why the Mentoring Network? | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The sharing of resources like knowledge
and experiences and expertise between two individuals to help with
personal growth and development.. There are many examples of mentoring
found in the Bible. E.g. Moses, Elijah, Barnabas, Paul, etc. But
the best example is the Lord Jesus sharing with His disciples all
that He had- His life and teachings and helping them to develop
into mature and useful people. Mentoring is more than teaching and Coaching. These are respectively, content-based and perforformance -focussed. In mentoring, the person's character building and enhancing life-values are the focus. This is also called biblically, disciplemaking- enabling a person to follow the Lord Jesus and repeat the same process with others. |
